I could be qual. detected with H2SO4, SbCl3, and phosphotungstic acid. TLC of I can be done on silufol using 4:1:1 n-BuOH-EtOH-AcOH and 5:3:2 n-BuOH-EtOH-H2O, and detection with 25% alc. phosphotungstic acid. I can be estd. by nonaq. titrn. after isolation from biol. material. I caused hemolysis of blood erythrocytes and its hemolysis index was 1:20,000. The i.v. LD50 of I was 1.9 mg/kg.
