(Lab. Pharmacodyn., U.E.Some commonly used reagents like 7782-44-7 and 525-66-6 are used in this experiment.R. Pharm., Paris, Fr.). Eur. J. Toxicol. Environ. Hyg., 9(4), 241-4 (French) 1976. CODEN: EJTXAZ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) Section cross-reference(s): 14 In curarized rats, the direct cerebral antihypoxic effect of drugs was detd. The drugs were evaluated by measuring the increase in time between myocardial S-T segment depression and the disappearance of the electrocorticogram as compared to controls. Pyritinol [1098-97-1] (50 mg/kg, i.v.), vincamine [1617-90-9] (5 mg/kg, i.v.), propranolol [525-66-6] (1 mg/kg, i.v.), but not pentobarbital [57-33-0] (60 mg/kg, i.v.) showed cerebral antihypoxic activity when administered 15 min prior to hypoxia induction. .

- Study on the antihypoxic effect of some drugs used in the pharmacotherapy of cerebrovascular disease. Milanova, D.; Nikolov, R.; Nikolova, M. (Chem. Pharm. Res. Inst., Sofia 1156, Bulg.). Methods Find. 7491-74-9 and 42971-09-5 which are cas registry numbers are also used here. Exp. Clin. Pharmacol., 5(9), 607-12 (English) 1983. CODEN: MFEPDX. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) In mice, a study of the antihypoxic effect of piracetam [7491-74-9], orotic acid [65-86-1], centrophenoxine [3685-84-5], pentobarbital [76-74-4], vincamine [1617-90-9], vinpocetine [42971-09-5], cinnarizine [298-57-7], aligeron [41332-10-9], xanthinol nicotinate [437-74-1] and papaverine [58-74-2], used in the pharmacotherapy of cerebrovascular diseases, indicated that the most pronounced effect was obsd. primarily with the metabolic-acting drugs such as orotic acid, piracetam, etc., followed by drugs having both metabolic and vasoactive properties (vincamine and vinpocetine). Drugs which were predominantly vasoactive were less effective in anoxic hypoxia, but showed a more pronounced effect in incomplete ischemia. .
