Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by Benzene-1,4-dicarbaldehyde. This reaction will need reagent Piperidine, and solvent Pyridine. The reaction temperature is 110 - 130 °C.

Uses of 2-Propenoic acid,3,3'-(1,4-phenylene)bis-: it can be used to produce 3,7-Dichlorbenzol[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophen-2,6-dicarbonylchlorid at temperature of 140 °C. It will need reagent SOCl₂; Pyridine with reaction time of 1 hour. The yield is about 41%.
