- Solid state interaction between dolomite and urea nitrate. Pathak, D. N. (Dep. Chem., Reg. Inst. Technol., Jamshedpur, India). Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci., India, Sect. A, 46(1), 73-5 (English) 1976. CODEN: PAIAA3. ISSN: 0369-8203. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 19 (Fertilizers, Soils, and Plant Nutrition) A solid state interaction occurred when dolomite [16389-88-1] and urea nitrate [124-47-0] powders were ground together for 2-3 h. The product was water sol. when the wt. ratio of dolomite to urea nitrate was 1:3. The method may be utilized to manuf. a mixed fertilizer contg. water-sol. Ca and Mg and a relatively less sol. source of N suitable for regulating the nutrient supply to plants.

- Petrologic and geochemical constraints on the origin of subsurface dolomite, Enewetak Atoll: an example of dolomitization by normal seawater. Saller, Arthur H. (Dep. Geol., Louisiana State Univ., Baton Rouge, LA 70803, USA). Geology, 12(4), 217-20 (English) 1984. CODEN: GLGYBA. ISSN: 0091-7613. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 53 (Mineralogical and Geological Chemistry) Dolomite [16389-88-1] in Eoceme strata of Enewetak Atoll has a 87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0.70865-0.70901, indicating formation between mid-Miocene and the present. The O-isotopic ratios of dolomite samples suggest that they formed in cold seawater. The deep dolomite pptd. from cold, deep ocean water which was undersatd. with respect to calcite, at a burial depth of >900 m, in permeable carbonate strata.
