- In vitro activities of anidulafungin against more than 2500 clinical isolates of Candida spp
- All Rights Reserved. In vitro activities of anidulafungin against more than 2500 clinical isolates of Candida spp., including 315 isolates resistant to fluconazole. Pfaller, M. A.; Boyken, L.; Hollis, R. J.; Messer, S. A.; Tendolkar, S.; Diekema, D. J. (Departments of Pathology, Epidemiology, and Medicine, University of Iowa College of Medicine and College of Public Health, Iowa City, IA 52242, USA).There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 166663-25-8 and 80619-41-6 are used in this study. Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 43(11), 5425-5427 (English) 2005 American Society for Microbiology. CODEN: JCMIDW. ISSN: 0095-1137. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 10 (Microbial, Algal, and Fungal Biochemistry) Anidulafungin is an echinocandin antifungal agent with potent activity against Candida spp. The authors assessed the in vitro activity of anidulafungin against 2,235 clin. isolates of Candida spp. using the CLSI broth microdilution method. Anidulafungin was very active against Candida spp. (the MIC at which 90% of strains are inhibited [MIC90] was 2 mg/mL when MIC endpoint criteria of partial inhibition [MIC-2] were used). Candida albicans, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, C. krusei, and C. kefyr were the most susceptible species of Candida (MIC90, 0.06 to 0.12 mg/mL), and C. parapsilosis, C. lusitaniae, and C. guilliermondii were the least susceptible (MIC90, 0.5 to 2 mg/mL). In addn., 315 fluconazole-resistant isolates were tested, and 99% were inhibited by £1 mg/mL of anidulafungin. These results provide further evidence for the spectrum and potency of anidulafungin activity against a large and geog. diverse collection of clin. important isolates of Candida spp. .
- The safety of anidulafungin
- All Rights Reserved. The safety of anidulafungin. Vazquez, Jose A. (Division of Infectious Diseases, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI 48202, USA). Expert Opinion on Drug Safety, 5(6), 751-758 (English) 2006 Informa Healthcare. CODEN: EODSA9. ISSN: 1474-0338. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal; General Review CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) A review. The echinocandins are a new class of antifungal that have shown promising results in treating a variety of fungal infections. Anidulafungin is the newest approved echinocandin and may have some advantages over existing antifungals. It has activity against a broad range of fungi. It is unique because it undergoes a process of slow chem. degrdn. rather than being metabolized. Studies evaluating the use of anidulafungin in combination with other commonly used drugs have not demonstrated any significant drug-drug interactions or adverse events. 166663-25-8 which is the cas registry number of one of substances is just one of reagents here. Thus far, anidulafungin appears to have an excellent safety profile with few adverse events. Based on early clin. experience, it appears that anidulafungin will be a valuable and safe asset in the management of serious and difficult-to-treat fungal infections. .
