Thus, epoxidized novolak 100, clay 150, and Zn stearate 2 parts were compounded at 70-80° and bisphenol A glycidyl ether [1675-54-3] 100, m-tolylenediamine 250, and Zn stearate 3 parts were compounded at 40-60°. The 1st particles (100 parts) were blended with 9 parts of the 2nd particles to give particles with good storage stability and moldability, whereas storage stability was poor for particles obtained on mixing 2 compns. in a 1-step process.

C57BL/6 mice were more sensitive to skin carcinogenesis as evidenced by a higher frequency of mice responding at the highest doses were, for C3H: compd. I, 6; II 0; I + II, 64%; and for C57BL/6: compd. I, 13; II, 20; I + II, 80%. The substantial difference in the potency of the materials applied as a 1:1 mixt. as opposed to their effects when tested individually suggested synergistic interaction. Similar tests of the skin carcinogenicity of m-phenylenediamine [108-45-2] were neg. at all doses and in both strains. An increased incidence of lung tumors relative to vehicle control was detected in C3H mice treated at the highest dose of I.
