Effect of metal salts in prolonging antibacterial activity of teeth treated with 8-hydroxyquinoline
Effect of metal salts in prolonging antibacterial activity of teeth treated with 8-hydroxyquinoline. Greenberg, Joshua; Turesky, Samuel S.; Warner, Victor D. (Sch. Dent. Med., Tufts Univ., Boston, Mass., USA). J. Periodontol. 7487-88-9 and 7447-39-4 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here., 47(11), 664-6 (English) 1976. CODEN: JOPRAJ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) Pretreatment of extd. teeth with FeSO4, Fe2(SO4)3, FeCl3, and CuCl2 prolonged the antibacterial activity of 8-hydroxyquinoline-HCl (I) [16862-11-6]. The iron sulfates were particularly effective. .
Role of water structure and its alteration by various electrolytes in heavy water production
Role of water structure and its alteration by various electrolytes in heavy water production. Pradhan, D. G. (Dhenkanal, India). Indian J. Chem., Sect. A, 14(10), 793-4 (English) 1976.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 16862-11-6 and 13330-15-9 are used here. CODEN: IJCADU. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 71 (Nuclear Technology) Section cross-reference(s): 65 The role of H2O structure and its alteration by various solutes such as quinoline hydrochloride, 8-nitroquinoline, 8-hydroxyquinoline hydrochloride, and 2-methylquinoline were studied with a view to developing a method for heavy water prodn. 8-Hydroxyquinoline hydrochloride and 2-methylquinoline hydrochlode enrich the D content in the 1st fraction of distillate and hence are termed as structure-making solutes. 8-Nitroquinoline hydrochloride causes redn. in the D content in the 1st fraction and hence has beentermed as structure-breaking. Quinoline hydrochloride has marginal structure-breaking properties. This difference in the behavior of the org. bases is attributed to the difference in the charge d. on a N atom due to the presence of e-withdrawing or e-donating groups. .
