In the carrageenan paw edema assay II was 1.3 tmes more active than indomethacin and 10 times more active than I. The therapeutic ratio (antiinflammatory activity/gastric irritation liability) of II was 25 times that of indomethacin. Structure-activity relations were discussed. .
