Magnetic field effect on exciton-trap triplet annihilation in a fluorene single crystal doped with pyrene
Magnetic field effect on exciton-trap triplet annihilation in a fluorene single crystal doped with pyrene. Pekcan, Onder (Dep.Some chemicals with cas registry numbers like 86-73-7 and 1718-52-1 are also used. Phys., Hacettepe Univ., Ankara, Turk.). Hacettepe Bull. Nat. Sci. Eng., 4, 31-43 (English) 1975. CODEN: HBNSAZ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 73 (Spectra by Absorption, Emission, Reflection, or Magnetic Resonance, and Other Optical Properties) Measurements of the magnetic field dependence of the annihilation rate const. of triplet excitons in a fluorene single crystal doped with pyrene-d10 at -50.degree. showed that the rate of triplet exciton process which is subject to a spin selection rule is magnetic field dependent. The delayed fluorescence intensity increases at low field and reaches a max. in the region 400-600 G and then decreases with increasing magnetic field strength, reaching a plateau at high fields. The results are discussed in terms of a d.-matrix description of the spin states of the interacting triplet pair and of the annihilation process. The proposed exciton-trap triplet annihilation model is able to explain certain qual. features of the exptl. results. .
Sampling and analysis problems encountered with evaluation of remediation technologies
Sampling and analysis problems encountered with evaluation of remediation technologies. Lewis, Ronald; Dosani, Majid (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Cincinnati, OH, USA). Proceedings, Annual Meeting - Air & Waste Management Association, 88th(Vol. 14), 95-FA163.03 (English) 1995 Air & Waste Management Association. CODEN: PAMEE5. ISSN: 1052-6102. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 19 (Fertilizers, Soils, and Plant Nutrition) In lab. studies Soxhlet extn. appeared to be the best procedure for extg. PAHs from soil matrixes. 118-79-6 and 1718-52-1 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. Phys. shaking was less efficient than sonication, and sonication did not allow complete transfer of PAHs into the solvent mixt. used. Frequently, contamination is not evenly distributed in soils; taking a no. of samples is recommended. Recovery of d10-pyrene (I) was satisfactory, suggesting that I may be an appropriate surrogate for PAH extn. .
