The prepn. of I involved reacting HO[-(CH2)3SiMe2O(SiMe2O)mSiMe2(CH2)3O2CCH:CH-]nCO2H (II, m and n as above) with NaHSO3 at 100-80°. The prepn. of II involved the esterification of maleic acid [110-16-7] with 1,3-bis(g-hydroxypropyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane [18001-97-3] or 1,11-bis(g-hydroxypropyl)-1,1,3,3,5,5,7,7,9,9,11,11-dodecamethylhexa siloxane [58104-14-6]. The duration of the reaction detd. n in II (m = 0, n = 2, 4, or 6).

Heating 94 g I with 32.7 g Me2N(CH2)3NMe2 in 37. 92174-26-0 which is the cas registry number of one of substances is just one of reagents here.5 g water for 13 h gave a water-sol. resin [92174-24-8]. A shampoo contained this resin 1, Triton CG110 18, C13H27(OCH2CH2)6OCH2CO2H 3, NaOH for pH 7.5, perfume, dyes, preservatives, and water. .
