Chem.Except for chemicals metioned above, 1826-16-0 is also used., Marathwada Univ., Aurangabad, India). Indian J. Chem., Sect. B, 15B(11), 1063-5 (English) 1977. CODEN: IJSBDB. ISSN: 0376-4699. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 28 (Heterocyclic Compounds (More Than One Hetero Atom)) Section cross-reference(s): 5 Chlorosulfonation of phenylthiazoles I (R = H, Me, Cl, Br; R1 = H) with ClSO3H gave 75-81% I (R1 = SO2Cl) which on treatment with NH3 gave 52-60% I (R1 = SO2NH2). Treating I (R = H, Me; R1 = SO2Cl) with R2C6H4NH2 gave 68-90% I (R1 = SO2NHC6H4R2, R2 = H, 2-, 3-, 4-Me, 2-, 3-, 4-Cl, 2-, 3-, 4-OMe, 4-Br, 4-OEt, 4-NO2). The sulfonamides inhibited the growth of Xanthomonas malvacearum at 25-250 ppm. .
