DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 64 (Pharmaceutical Analysis) Aminophenazone (I) [58-15-1] and isopyrine-HCl (II-HCl) [18342-39-7] or isopyrine tartrate (II-tartrate) [64906-00-9] were detd. by gas chromatog. in various pharmaceutical prepns. in the presence of other constituents. A flame-ionization detector and a Chromosorb W column coated with 10% SE-30 were used. Std. deviations averaged 3.21%.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 64 (Pharmaceutical Analysis) Constituents of 7 different pharmaceutical prepns. were detd. using methods consisting essentially of extn. and quant. detn. of the sepd. drugs either directly or via adsorption on Amberlite IR-120 in H+ or Zn2+ form. Isopyrine-HCl [18342-39-7] was thus extd. from Rheumanol [63797-06-8] tablets with H2O, passed through a Zn2+-Amberlite column, and the eluted Zn2+ measured by titrn. with EDTA. The other active constituent of Rheumanol, phenylbutazone [50-33-9], was extd. from the tablet remnants with acetone and detd. by titrn. with NaOH in the presence of phenolphthalein. Results obtained with such methods are tabulated for all 7 pharmaceutical prepns. and compared to those obtained by other pharmacopeial techniques.
