DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 76 (Electric Phenomena) Section cross-reference(s): 75, 77 We report on the measurements and analyses of resistivity, Hall coeff., and thermopower of the misfit-layered compd., [Sr2O2-d]pCoO2, using single-cryst. samples obtained by a high-pressure technique. Using a polycryst. sample, magnetic susceptibilities are measured to roughly characterize the electronic states of the cobalt ions. The misfit ratio, p, was detd. to be 0.53 from transmission electron microscopic analyses. [Sr2O2-d]0.53CoO2 shows metallic conduction down to 2 K and Curie-Weiss-like susceptibility as Na0.75CoO2 does. In addn., the thermopower at room temp. There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 18480-07-4 and 129240-96-6 in this article. is the smallest among the known misfit-layered cobalt oxides, though the carrier concn. is almost the same as that of the misfit-layered compd., Ca3Co4O9, which has a much larger thermopower. We discuss the room-temp. thermopower in misfit-layered cobalt oxides from the viewpoint of incommensurability-induced anisotropy which changes the d. of states near the Fermi level. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 57 (Ceramics) Section cross-reference(s): 73, 78 Small strontium titanate (SrTiO3) particles with an av. particle size of about 100 nm have been successfully synthesized by a simple and fast electrochem. route, in which Ti metal plates are used as electrodes and an aq.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 12060-59-2 and 18480-07-4 may be metioned in this study. soln. of KOH and Sr(OH)2 as an electrolyte. Anodic sparks played a key role, and KOH concn. was one of the most significant factors that affected the appearance of anodic sparks in this method. XRD patterns indicated that the powders obtained in our study were a pure perovskite phase SrTiO3 with a cubic structure, whose size and morphol. were subsequently studied by TEM. UV-VIS result showed that the products had better UV absorption and visible light response than TiO2-P25. .
