DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 11 (Plant Biochemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 26 Together with three known galloylglucoses and six known flavonol glycosides, a new hydrolyzable tannin was isolated from the leaves of A. raddiana. Degradative studies, in conjunction with 1H, 13C NMR and MS anal., have shown that the new hydrolyzable ellagitannin is 1,3-di-O-galloyl-4,6-(-)-hexahydroxydiphenoyl-b-glucopyranose. The known compds. are 1-O-galloyl-b-glucopyranose, 1,6-di-O-galloyl-b-glucopyranose, 1,3,6-tri-O-galloyl-b-glucopyranose, isorhamnetin 3-O-rutinoside, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, quercetin 3-O-gentiobioside, quercetin 3-O-glucosylgalactoside, quercetin 3-O-glucoside and quercetin 3-O-galactoside. .
