A blue-violet zirconium silicate pigment with admixtures of condensed cobalt phosphates
A blue-violet zirconium silicate pigment with admixtures of condensed cobalt phosphates. Trojan, M. (Inst. Chem. Technol., Pardubice 532 10, Czech.). Dyes Pigm., 8(2), 129-40 (English) 1987. CODEN: DYPIDX. ISSN: 0143-7208. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 57 (Ceramics) A blue-violet zircon pigment was developed that is suitable for ceramics. Its color is due to particles of condensed Co phosphates incorporated as inclusions in zircon microcrystals. A combination of Na2SiF6 and LiOH with cryolite was used as the mineralizer in the pigment synthesis. 18718-10-0 and 1310-65-2 are also in the experiment. The chromophore is Co(H2PO4)2 or the corresponding mixt. of CoO and H3PO4, which are calcined to give intensely colored particles of the condensed phosphate. The effects of the chromophore and of the individual components of the mineralizer on the color of the pigment were evaluated and their optimum amt. in the starting mixt. estd. The calcination temps. and product yields correspond to those of other zircon pigments. .
