An aliquot was chromatographed on a silica gel G plate and by using hexane-CHCl3-MeOH at a ratio of 8:2:0.25 or 4:5:1 as eluent, and the plate was scanned with a dual-wavelength TLC scanner for quant. anal. The satd. plot was linear in the range of 0.5-3.0 mg and the relative std. deviation were 1.76%. The isoquinoline alkaloids also were detd. in 6 other related plants.
