DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Comparisons were made of sensitivities to several antimicrobial chems. of isolates of phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi collected from various parts of Japan. Streptomycin (I) [57-92-1]-resistant isolates of Erwinia carotovora were insensitive to kasugamycin (II) [6980-18-3], whereas I-resistant isolates of Pseudomonas lachrymans were sensitive to II except for 2 isolates. Polyoxin B (III) [19396-06-6]-resistant isolates of Alternaria mali and A. kikuchiana were sensitive to blasticidin S [2079-00-7]. All of 155 isolates of Botrytis were sensitive to S-7131 (I) [32809-16-8] and CuSO4. Carbendazim (Me 2-benzimidazolecarbamate) [10605-21-7] (IV)-resistant isolates of Botrytis were sensitive III, but some of the IV-resistant isolates were resistant to chlorothalonil [1897-45-6]. Min. inhibitory concns. of IV toward isolates of Botrytis were pos. correlated to the effectiveness of benomyl [17804-35-2] and thiophanate methyl [23564-05-8] toward gray mold disease on pear and bean leaves inoculated with resp. isolates.
