The compn. of the copolymer was dependent upon reaction conditions, and the behavior of I during polymn. with II was similar to that of analogous C-C double-bonded electron-acceptor monomers. Solvent effects on the copolymn. were discussed. In a control exp. using a given amt. of radical initiator, II was homopolymd. at a qual. faster rate than alternating polymn. of II with I. This is the opposite effect to what is the usual case in radical alternating copolymn.
