The petroleum ether and chloroform exts. were subjected to silica gel column chromatog. After recrystn.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 198139-71-8 , many compds. were isolated. The petroleum ether ext. contained a mixt. of long chain hydrocarbons including n-hexacosane, n-hexatriacontane and n-tetratriacontane, and a mixt. of b-sitosterol and stigmasterol. The chloroform ext. contained b-sitosterol-3-b-O-D-glucopyranoside and two compds. which were named Neem A and Neem B. The chem. structures of Neem A and Neem B were detd. by phys. methods (m.p., IR, NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS) and by comparison to authentic samples. It was proposed that Neem A was desenecioyl deacetylazadirachtolide and Neem B was desenecioyl deacetyldeoxyazadirachtolide. .
