Methabenzthiazuron [18691-97-9] and terbutryne [886-50-0] were effective against broad-leaved weeds and gave higher yield as compared to 2,4-D [94-75-7]. On sandy loam calcareous soil, isoproturon [34123-59-6] (1.0 kg/ha), metoxuron [19937-59-8] (1.25 and 1.35 kg/ha), and methabenzthiazuron (1.5 kg/ha preemergence) gave excellent control of Phalaris minor. Diclofopmethyl [51338-27-3] was effective against P. minor but was ineffective against broad-leaved weeds. Except 2,4-D, none of the herbicides used were effective against Circum arvense.

Selective detn. (at 1.0 V) of metoxuron [19937-59-8] in the presence of other phenylureas allows the detection of 30 parts/trillion of the herbicide in surface water.
