DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 42 (Coatings, Inks, and Related Products) The addn. of 1.0-1.5% 4-aminobutylaminomethyltriethoxysilane (AGM 3) [60000-97-7] to VN 30 [coating material derived from poly(methylphenylsiloxane)] changed its min. hardening temp. from 180-200° without any agent to 20°. The hardening times of VN 30 contg. AGM 3 at 20, 60, or 120° were 72, 6, and 3 h resp. Other hardeners-MeSi(OEt)3 [2031-67-6], H2N(CH2)3Si(OEt)3 [919-30-2], or Ti(OBu)4 [5593-70-4] also cured VN 30 at 20°, but slower than AGM 3.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 38 (Elastomers, Including Natural Rubber) Mixts. of OH-terminated siloxane with (EtO)3SiMe [2031-67-6], (3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane [2530-83-8], or a similar compd. were hardened to prep. rubbers useful as seals, gaskets, etc. Thus, 100 parts a, w-dihydroxypoly(dimethylsiloxane)emulsion, contg. 20% siloxane with viscosity 250,000 cSt and glyceryl stearate emulsifier, was mixed with 10 parts (EtO)3SiMe and 4 parts Bu2Sn(OAc)2 and hardened at 150° for 10 min to prep. a rubber with tensile strength 16.6 kg/cm2 and elongation 250%.
