DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) In field trials, Kocide 101 [20427-59-2], CuO (Perenox), Cu oxychloride, and Procida Bordeaux mixt. [8011-63-0] effectively controlled bacterial blight and coffee berry disease and significantly increased yields of clean coffee. Under severe incidence of the 2 diseases, Kocide 101 sprays were superior in performance. Cu sprays induced phytotoxic symptoms on light soils with low org. matter, but not on heavy, loamy soils. Residual effects of Cu sprays in 1 yr increased the susceptibility of trees to infection in the next. Cumulative Cu sprays in 2 yr had a significant effect on the control of both diseases and on yield response but gave an indication of long-term problems that could arise from excessive use of Cu.
