- Antineoplastic activity of a series of boron analogs of a-amino acids. Hall, I. H.; Gilbert, C. J.; McPhail, A. T.; Morse, K. W.In this article, certain chemicals are used. One of their cas registry numbers is 20596-52-5 ; Hassett, Karen; Spielvogel, B. F. (Sch. Pharm., Univ. North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, USA). J. Pharm. Sci., 74(7), 755-8 (English) 1985. CODEN: JPMSAE. ISSN: 0022-3549. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) A series of 14 amine cyanoboranes, amine carboxyboranes, and B analogs of a-amino acids were investigated for antineoplastic activity against the growth of Ehrlich ascites cells. Addnl. studies demonstrated that the analogs inhibited DNA and RNA synthesis at 300 mM. The suppression of DNA synthesis in Ehrlich ascites cells correlated with the redn. of DNA polymerase [9012-90-2], 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate amidotransferase [9031-82-7] and dihydrofolate reductase [9002-03-3] activities afforded by the B compds. These derivs. did not suppress protein synthesis, thymidylate synthetase [9031-61-2] or thymidine monophosphate kinase [9014-43-1] activities, as previously reported for some B antineoplastic agents. .
