DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Urinary metabolites of 1,2-dichloro (I) [2050-69-3] 2,7-dichloro (II) [2198-77-8], and 2,6-dichloronaphthalene (III) [2065-70-5] were isolated and characterized following oral administration of 400 mg of the dichloronaphthalene/kg to male Wistar rats. I was biotransformed to the glucuronide conjugate of 5,6-dichloro-1,2-dihydroxy-1,2-dihydronaphthalene [62857-74-3]. II was metabolized to free and conjugated 7-chloro-2-naphthol [40492-93-1], while III gave free and conjugated 6-chloro-2-naphthol [40604-49-7] and 2,6-dichloronaphthol [62857-75-4]. The isolation of the metabolites was accomplished by column and thin-layer chromatog., and the structures were elucidated by spectral methods.
