It is used for the treatment of swine dysentery and other intestinal infections via drinking water. The prepn. was well tolerated in both the prescribed and 3-5-fold higher doses. The sulfathiazol component was absorbed better and persisted in the target organs much longer than tylosin. The withdrawal period of Sulfatyl in pigs is 10 days for the whole body including internal organs and 5 days when the kidneys are removed. .
