Uses of Bis(trimethylsilyl)methane: it can be used to produce Si,Si'-dichloro-Si,Si,Si',Si'-tetramethyl-Si,Si'-methanediyl-bis-silane at temperature of 20 ℃. This reaction will need reagent AlCl₃, CH₃COCl with reaction time of 1.5 hours. The yield is about 40%.
