Spectrochimica Acta, Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 65A(3-4), 950-954 (English) 2006 Elsevier B.V. CODEN: SAMCAS. ISSN: 1386-1425. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) Section cross-reference(s): 5 Organotin(IV) complexes of tribenzyltin(IV) chloride and di(para-chlorobenzyl)tin(IV) dichloride with thiohydrazide and thiodiamines are reported. The ligands synthesized were bidentate coordinating through S and terminal N atoms forming five, six and seven membered metallacycles, resp. The following 1:1 metal-ligand organotin(IV) complexes were synthesized: (C6H5CH2)3Sn(L1)Cl, (p-ClC6H4CH2)2Sn(L1)Cl2, (C6H5CH2)3Sn(L1)Cl, (p-ClC6H4CH2)2Sn(L2)Cl2, (C6H5CH2)3Sn(L3)Cl, (p-ClC6H4CH2)2Sn(L3)Cl2, where (L1): N-(2-phenylethyl)hydrazinecarbothioamide, (L2): N-((2-phenylethyl)aminothiocarbonyl)-1,3-propane diamine, (L3): N-((2-phenylethyl)aminothiocarbonyl)-1,2-ethane diamine. The complexes were synthesized by directly mixing, refluxing and stirring the ligands with benzyltin(IV) chlorides in a suitable solvent. The complexes are pure and were characterized by elemental anal., electronic, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. These complexes were also studied for their thermal decompn. by TG and DTA. Various kinetic and thermodn. parameters, viz. activation energy (Ea), order of reaction (n), apparent activation entropy (S#) and heat of reaction (DH) were detd. by using Horowitz-Metzger method. These complexes are highly stable and the thermal degrdn. of these complexes is a spontaneous process.Several substances like 21198-23-2 may be metioned in this study. The ligands and their Sn complexes were also screened for their fungitoxicity activity and are quite active in this respect. .
