Lincogen contg. lincomycin, gentamicin, and prednisolone intended for the intramammary treatment of acute mastitis in lactating cows. Lincogen was well tolerated by the mammary gland tissues. Lincogen was administered twice daily for 3-4 days in 24 cows or once daily for 3-4 days in 22 animals. Clin. recovery was achieved in 93.48% and the pathogenic microorganisms were eliminated in 87.5% of the treated cows. The restoration of somatic cell counts in the milk occurred the most slowly in 1-2 wk. .
