(log Kow) values for 15 chloro biphenyls and biphenyl [92-52-4]. The method circumvents many of the exptl. difficulties encountered with the traditional shake-flask system. Log Kow values generated by this procedure are compared with data obtained from the shake-flask method, 2 chromatog. estn. techniques, and the computational method of C. Hansch and A. Leo (1979). Log Kow values reported for the higher chlorinated congeners, including 2,2',3,3',5,5',6,6'-octachlorobiphenyl [2136-99-4] and decachlorobiphenyl [2051-24-3], are some of the highest ever measured directly. .
