The same reaction with MeNHNH2 gave 1-methyl-3-phenyl-2-pyrazoline in both acid and alk. medium; excess MeNHNH2 gave hydrazide I. Treating PhCOCH:CHCO2H with PhNHNH2 in acid medium gave the hydrazone, whereas in alk. medium 1,3-diphenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-carboxylic acid was obtained. RR1NNH2 (RR1N = NMe2, morpholino) gave RR1NNHCH(CO2H)CH2COPh. .
