Thus, the inside wall and the stirrer of a stainless steel reactor was coated with a mixt. of 100 parts MeOH and 5 parts Bu2SO [2168-93-6] and heated at 50.degree. to form a 0.001-0.01 g/m2 Bu2SO coating. When a mixt. of H2O 1000, partially sapond. poly(vinyl alc.) 0.4, dilauroyl peroxide 0.1, and I 400 kg was stirred 12 h at 67.degree. in the above coated reactor, no PVC was deposited on the reactor or stirrer, compared with 500 g/m2 deposition for a similar run without the Bu2SO coating.

Thus, addn. of 0.20 wt.% S as Me2SO [67-68-5] reduced coke formation in the pyrolysis of the gasoline from 3.60 to 0.12 wt.%. The other S-contg. additives were Bu2SO [2168-93-6], Me2S2 [624-92-0], sulfides from diesel fuels, thiophene [110-02-1], elemental S, aq. Na2S, (NH4)2S, Na2S2O3, (NH4)2S2O8, KHS2O4, elemental S with H2O, and Me2SO with H2O.
