Coexistence Curve of the Ionic Binary Mixture Ethylammonium Nitrate-N-Octanol: Critical Properties
Coexistence Curve of the Ionic Binary Mixture Ethylammonium Nitrate-N-Octanol: Critical Properties. Bonetti, M.Several substances are used for example 111-87-5 and 22113-86-6 which are their cas registry numbers.; Oleinikova, A.; Bervillier, C. (Service de Physique de l'Etat Condense, Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, Gif sur Yvette 91191, Fr.). Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 101(12), 2164-2173 (English) 1997 American Chemical Society. CODEN: JPCBFK. ISSN: 1089-5647. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 68 (Phase Equilibriums, Chemical Equilibriums, and Solutions) Presented are measurements of the coexistence curve of the ionic mixt. ethylammonium nitrate-octanol within the reduced temp. range 2.6 ′ 10-5 < t < 4.2 ′ 10-2. The salt vol. fraction is chosen as the order parameter as this gives the most sym. phase diagram. The detn. of the asymptotic crit. exponent b gives a value close to the 3-D Ising value although correction-to-scaling terms are necessary to fit the data. The effective exponent beff as a function of the reduced temp. does not show any crossover from the classical to the Ising value and suggests rather an approach, from below, to the asymptotic 3-D Ising value. The (1 - a) anomaly of the mean diam. could not be precisely detd. although a deviation near Tc from the rectilinear law could be noticed. .
Thermodynamic characterization of phospholipids dispersed in ethylammonium nitrate (a fused salt)
Thermodynamic characterization of phospholipids dispersed in ethylammonium nitrate (a fused salt). Tamura-Lis, W.; Lis, L. J.; Quinn, P. J. (Med. Cent., Univ. Nebraska, Omaha, NE 68105-1065, USA).Some commonly used reagents like 22113-86-6 and 19698-29-4 are used in this experiment. J. Colloid Interface Sci., 150(1), 200-7 (English) 1992. CODEN: JCISA5. ISSN: 0021-9797. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 66 (Surface Chemistry and Colloids) Section cross-reference(s): 6, 68, 69 The phases and transition sequences and mechanisms for phospholipids dispersed in fused salt (ethylammonium nitrate, EAN) were examd. via calorimetry, x-ray diffraction, and freeze-fracture electron microscopy. In most cases, complex and hysteretic phase behavior as a function of temp. was obsd. or inferred. Dilauroyl-, dimyristoyl-, and dipalmitoylphophatidylcholine; dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine; and dipalmitoylphosphatadic acid were shown to produce nonlamellar phases above Tm when dispersed in 80% (vol/wt) EAN. The lipids distearoylphosphatidylcholine and dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol were found to produce lamellar phases over the temp. range studied, 0-80°. In general, phospholipids dispersed in EAN were shown to favor curved surfaces, including the formation of the HII phase. There is some indication that the degree of curvature produced may be headgroup or acyl chain dependent. The complete characterization of these systems must involve studies of the influence of the complete thermal history (i.e., equilibration times and temps., rate of change of temp. with time) of the sample as well as compn. and sample temp. .
