DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) LC50 values of trans-Gardona [22350-76-1] and cis-Gardona (I) [22248-79-9] for 3rd instar Pieris brassicae caterpillars were 0.01 and 0.008%, resp. By UV irradn. I was photolyzed into 2,4,5-trichlorophenacyl chloride [1201-42-9], which was rapidly transformed into 1-(2,4,5-trichlorophenyl)-2-chloroethanol [20917-55-9]. After a longer irradn. 2,4,5-trichloroacetophenone [13061-28-4] and the final product 1-(2,4,5-trichlorophenyl)ethanol [14299-54-8] were also formed. Within 21 days following spraying with 0.3-1.2 kg I/ha, the I content in cabbage leaves decreased by 25%.
