DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Section cross-reference(s): 14 Rats given 0.02 mg N-butyl-N-(4-hydroxybutyl)nitrosamine [3817-11-6]/day in the drinking H2O for 8 weeks were injected i.m. with 3 mg/kg Enarmonoil (testosterone propionate)(I) [57-85-2], ovahormone benzoate (estradiol benzoate) [50-50-0] or Estriel-depot (estriol tripropionate) [2236-31-9] once a week for 20 weeks. I-treated rats had a significnatly higher incidence of bladder tumors than rats treated with estradiol benzoate or estriol tripropionate or than totally untreated control rats. There were no significant differences in tumor incidences in the carcinogen-only-treated control rats and testosterone propionate-treated rats, between the carcinogen-only controls and rats treated with estradiol benzoate or estriol propionate, or between rats treated with estradiol benzoate and estriol propionate.
