DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) In the prepn. of polycaprolactam [25038-54-4] in toluene and PhCl with Na bis(2-methoxyethoxy)dihydroaluminate [22722-98-1], the size and shape of the polymer particles depended on the stirring rate and the solvent, and the temp. and concn. of catalyst components had little influence. A high stirring rate gave small particles with relatively irregular shapes (<300.mu.). The polymn. in toluene gave spherical particles, and polymn. in PhCl gave smaller, irregular particles.
