DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) At 4-wk stage, the max. weed control efficiency (76.8%) for grasses in jute was obsd. for fluchloralin (I) [33245-39-5] (2 kg/ha). However, at the 8-wk stage, the weed control efficiency was 98.3% with I (1 kg/ha) plus 1 manual weeding at the 6-wk crop age. Tetrapion [22898-01-7] (4 kg/ha) + 1 manual weeding, diphenamid [957-51-7] (4 and 6 kg/ha), MSMA [2163-80-6] (4.5 kg/ha), and MSMA + dalapon [75-99-0] (2.25 + 3 kg/ha) gave good control of grass. The max. weed control efficiency (90%) on nutsedge was obtained with tetrapion (4 kg/ha) plus a manual weeding. Diphenamid injured jute seedlings and thus caused poor yields. 75-99-0 and 957-51-7 are just another two chemicals used in this study. Fiber yield was increased (as compared to manually weeded plots) by application of 1 kg I/ha + 1 manual weeding; MSMA or tetrapion + 1 manual weeding was at par with weeded control. .
