DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) Each of 2 gelatin hydrolyzate plasma expanders, Gelofusin (I) [39340-57-3] and Haemaccel (II) [8057-73-6], was mixed with 120 parenteral prepns. to exam. the incompatibility. No apparent deterioration was noted when the pH of the plasma expanders was set at 1.62-13.11 by the addn. of 0.1 N NaOH or 0.1 N HCl. The active ingredients achromycin [60-54-8], fungizone [1397-89-3], terramycin [79-57-2], liverall [8015-46-1], thioctan [2319-84-8], rinderon [378-44-9], cercine [439-14-5], hirnamin [60-99-1], wintermin [50-53-3], adephos L4 [63513-75-7], persantin [58-32-2], and Lencor [63530-08-5] pptd. when added to I or/and II. The phenomena were attributed to either pH shifts, insol. salt formation with Ca in the plasma expanders, or diln. of solubilizer.
