Degradation and leaching of methazole in soil
Degradation and leaching of methazole in soil. Brockman, F. E.; Duke, W. B. (Dep. Agron., Cornell Univ., Ithaca, N. Y., USA). Weed Sci., 25(4), 304-8 (English) 1977. CODEN: WEESA6. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) The degrdn. and leaching of methazole (I) [20354-26-1] and metabolites in Elmwood sandy loam soil over time in response to av. spring enviromental conditions was studied by using soil columns placed on a rainfall simulator in an evinromental growth chamber. I was degraded to 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methylurea (DCPMU) [3567-62-2] and 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)urea (DCPU) [2327-02-8] over a 6-week period following I application, during which the soil columns received simulated rainfall of 1.27 cm every 4th day. I level decreased to 27% of the original amt. while DCPMU and DCPU levels increased to 53% and 1%, resp. Of the total radioactivity remaining in the soil columns after 44 days and after 14 cm rainfall, approx. 80% remained above a depth of 6.35 mm.
Analysis of the herbicide diuron in crops
Analysis of the herbicide diuron in crops. Zahnow, Edward W. (E. I.In this study, 330-54-1 and 3567-62-2 are also used. du Pont de Nemours and Co., Inc., Wilmington, DE 19898, USA). J. Agric. Food Chem., 35(3), 403-6 (English) 1987. CODEN: JAFCAU. ISSN: 0021-8561. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) An anal. method based on the use of a liq. chromatograph [30 cm ′ 3.9 mm Waters m-Porasil column at 35° with isooctane-MeOH-2-PrOH-HOAc (:) as mobile phase] and a photocond. detector is described for the detn. of diuron [330-54-1] in soybeans, carrots, and potatoes. With extn. and cleanup steps, the method provides a means of detg. diuron at a level of 10 ng/g (10 ppb). Essentially quant. recoveries have been obtained from the detection limit (10 ppb) to a fortification level 20 times greater (200 ppb). The method will also detect linuron [330-55-2], neburon [555-37-3], and three diuron metabolites, namely (3,4-dichlorophenyl)-N-methylurea [3567-62-2], (3,4-dichlorophenyl)urea [2327-02-8], and 3,4-dichloroaniline [95-76-1]. .
