DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 65 (General Physical Chemistry) Self-diffusion coeffs. for chloride ion were measured as a function of chloride ion capacity in solns. of varying acidity using particles of hydrous ceric oxide heated at 50, 200 and 400°. The measured self-diffusion coeffs. depend on the total chloride ion capacity. At the same capacity, self-diffusion coeffs. are almost the same for ceria particles heated at different temps. The trace-component diffusion coeffs. of chloride ion in the nitrate-form of the oxide, dried at 50°, were also measured. 16887-00-6 and 23322-64-7 are just another two chemicals used in this study. Under the same conditions, the self-diffusion coeffs. are somewhat higher or close to the trace component diffusion coeff. for the sample dried at 50°. .

The catalyst was prepd. by oxidizing Ce(NO3)3 at 450.degree. for 5 h, pelleting with graphite powder, calcining at 600.degree. for 4 h, crushing to 10-16 mesh size, and was used in a fixed bed. 2,5-Dimethyldibenzofuran was similarly prepd. .
