Thiophanate-methyl (CAS NO.23564-05-8) is broad-spectrum fungicide and can be used for controlling the various diseases of cereals, cotton, fruits, vegetables and other crops.
First, cyaniding the methyl chloroformate and sodium thiocyanate by sulphur; then, Thiophanate-methyl (23564-05-8) is obtained through the condensation with o-phenylenediamine.

Thiophanate-Methyl is a systematic fungicide of the thiophanate class and is commonly used in agriculture to protect against powdery mildew, rot and other fungal (1,2) diseases in fruits, vegetables and other crops (3). May also function as a pesticide with cocarcinogenesis effects on insects observed. Antihelmintic (4).
