NH4Cl Pt(NH3)Cl3- and Pt(NH3)3Cl+ are detected by ir spectra. The formation of Pt(IV) complexes and free Pt(0) was also obsd. due to the disproportionation of cis-Pt(NH3)2Cl2. Pt(NH3)3Cl+ and Pt(NH3)Cl3- form Pt(NH3)42+ and PtCl42-, resp., forming [Pt(NH3)4][PtCl4] or form [Pt(NH3)3Cl][Pt(NH3)Cl3]. .
