Polymeric [ML]n (M = Ni, Cu, Pd, Pt) and [PtCl2L]n were obtained from H2L and NiCl2, CuCl2, Na2PdCl4, K2PtCl4, and Na2PtCl6, resp. In all these complexes the ligand coordinates through the N-atoms of the vis-dioxime moiety. Heterogeneous phase extn. expts. with these insol. complexes show no alkali metal binding properties which might result from the lower tendency of macrocyclic polyethers contg. N-donor groups. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 36 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) The title exchangers were prepd. by the reaction of 1,4,10,13-tetraoxa-7,16-diazacyclooctadecane (I) [23978-55-4] and 2,3-benzo-1,4,10,13-tetraoxa-7,16-diazacyclooctadec-2-ene [62331-74-2] with chloromethylated divinylbenzene-styrene copolymer [9003-70-7] or by condensation of HCHO or HCHO and phenols with 5,6-benzo-4,7,13,16,21,24-hexaoxa-1,10-diazabicyclo[8.8.8]hexacos-5 -ene (II) [31250-18-7] or 5,6,14,15-dibenzo-4,7,13,16,21,24-hexaoxa-1,10-diazabicyclo[8.8.8]h exacosa-5,14-diene [40471-97-4]. The exchangers had good resistance to heat and chems., and their capacities for alkali salts, such as KSCN and SrCl2, were 1.0-1.3 mmol/g. .
