The lining can also be injection molded. Thus, the metal surface of a bearing was coated with a mixt. of chlorinated rubber soln. and triphenylmethane 4,4',4''-triisocyanate [2422-91-5] soln., dried at 330 K, placed in a vulcanization mold, and lined with a compn. contg. nitrile rubber 48.66, polyester plasticizer 2.43, carbon black 29.20, graphite 14.60, S 0.73, N-cyclohexylbenzothiazolylsulfenamide-dibenzothiazolyl disulfide mixt. 0.97, ZnO 2.43, stearic acid 0.49, and phenyl-b-naphthylamine 0.49%. The vulcanized lining (pressed at 423 K/15 MPa for 10 min) had tensile strength 19.5 MPa, elongation at break 220%, 100 and 200% modulus 9 and 17 MPa, resp., kinetic friction coeff. against glycerol-wetted steel 0.16, and swelling in hydrocarbon oil at 298-343 K 1.79-2.23%, resp.

A sheet of neoprene rubber 100, MgO 4, ZnO 5, carbon black 60, chlorinated paraffin 20, and dicumyl peroxide [80-43-3] 4 parts was pressed with the Viton B sheet on the isocyanate-coated side at 160° and 20 kg/cm2 for 30 min to form a bond having peel strength 18.3 kg/25 mm (failure in rubber), compared with 5.0 kg/25 mm for a similar combination without I.
