(3-20%) as an insect repellent in water-sol. ointment bases. A vanishing cream contg. 20% I had a protection time of 6 h against Aedes aegypti, as compared to 1 h when using 3% I. I formulations contg. some essential oils had a prolonged protection time.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Field studies indicated that N,N-diethylphenylacetamide [2431-96-1] was more efficient repellent against mosquitoes (Culex quinquefasciatus), black fly (Simulium himalayense), and land leeches (Haemadipsa zeylanica) than di-Me phthalate [131-11-3] and was almost equal in effectiveness to N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide [134-62-3] at 0.25 and 0.5 mg/cm2 dosages.
