Anionic polymerization of acenaphthylene: identification of impurity species formed as by-products
Anionic polymerization of acenaphthylene: identification of impurity species formed as by-products. Lindsell, W. E.In this study, 208-96-8 and 90139-65-4 are also used.; Service, D. M.; Soutar, I. (Chem. Dep., Heriot-Watt Univ., Edinburgh EH14 4AS, UK). Polym. Commun., 25(4), 108-11 (English) 1984. CODEN: POCOEF. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) Section cross-reference(s): 36 Acenaphthylene [208-96-8] was polymd. anionically, and the resultant polymers [25036-01-5] were of greater purity and molar mass than previous literature reports might suggest. Absorption spectra (UV, IR, NMR) of the anionic polymers do not show any evidence of major mol. rearrangements during polymn. However, fluorescence spectroscopy showed that trace amts. of biacenaphthylidene [2435-82-7] impurity are generated during the polymn. .
