DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) An optimal procedure is described for the prepn. of K glutamate [24595-14-0] tablets insol. in gastric juice but sol. in intestinal juice. The tablets were coated in a pseudofluidized bed by spraying with 100 g coating soln./kg at 40°; the coating soln. contained 6 g cellulose acetate phthalate [9004-38-0], 0.36 g petrolatum, 20 g EtOH, and 80 g Me2CO. The 75 mm-thick coating layer decreased hygroscopic properties and increased shelf life of the tablets; it also prevented nausea after oral administration of the tablets.
