Thus, 360.0 g Desmodur L-2291A (biuret of 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate) was treated with 130.6 g Me Et ketoxime and the mixt. was heated 3 h at 90° before adding 33.5 g a,a-dimethylolpropionic acid and 184.9 g N-Me pyrrolidone (I). After heating for an addnl. 3 h at 90°, the mixt. was cooled to 68° and mixed with 24.0 g Et3N and 50.0 g I. The resulting product, having viscosity 11,800 mPa-s at 23°, was dispersed in an equal portion of H2O and admixed (111.2 g) with 55.6 g CMD-35201 bisphenol A epoxy resin dispersion and 25 drops FC-430 fluorocarbon surfactant. The compn. was coated on steel panels which were kept at room temp. for 30 min before baking for 20 min at 140°. A clear, defect-free film having pencil hardness 4H-6H was obtained. .
