- Surfactants for water-thinned polymer coating compositions. Nishimura, Tadashi; Shiotsu, Sayoko (Leben Utility Co., Ltd., Japan). Japan. Kokai JP 51095442 21 Aug 1976 Showa, 6 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: B05D007-24. APPLICATION: JP 75-21152 19 Feb 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 42 (Coatings, Inks, and Related Products) Aq. polymer dispersions, giving tack-free smooth coating films, were prepd. by mixing dispersions with readily decompg. surfactants. Thus, a mixt. of Et acrylate 60, Me methacrylate 32, methacrylic acid 8, water 120, K2S2O8 1, and n-dodecyl-4-O-.beta.-D-glucopyranosyl-.beta.-D-glucopyranosiduronic acid Me ester [61593-53-1] 5 parts was polymd. to give an acrylic resin [25133-97-5] emulsion (50% solids), which was coated on a hardboard, exposed 30 s to a Hg lamp, and dried 3 min at 110.degree. to give a tack free smooth coating film.
- Porous ceramic or metal coatings and products
- Porous ceramic or metal coatings and products. Bryan, Thomas T.; Pluim, Arthur W., Jr. (Minnesota Mining and Mfg. Co., USA). Ger. Offen. DE 2620694 18 Nov 1976, 41 pp. (German). (Germany). CODEN: GWXXBX. CLASS: IC: C04B039-00. PRIORITY: US 75-576110 9 May 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) Prossthetic devices for percutaneous implantation, such as blood inlets for renal dialysis, ostomy valves, and openings for chronic drug administration were prepd. with a cylindrical stem of ceramic or metal covered with a porous ceramic or metal casing which protrudes through the skin, and an apron of the porous ceramic or metal compn. which can encircle and press close to a vein or other tissue. The protruding cylinder was closed with a Teflon stopper. The devices become anchored after implantation by tissue growth into the coating and the apron. The devices were prepd. by applying to the ceramic or metal cylinder a coating compn. contg. 25-80% ceramic or metal powder with 0.1-300 .mu. particles, 2.0-12% binder, and 18-73% solvent. The solvent was then evapd., and the article was sintered to form the porous coating. For example, 18 g Al Si Mag 614 (ceramic powder) [1344-28-1], 0.5 g powd. Al stearate, 1.0 g polycarbodiimide [25215-75-2], 2 g carboset 514 [25133-97-5], 3 cm3 water, 5 cm3 propylene glycol [57-55-6] and 6 cm3 acetone [67-64-1] were mixed at room temp., and a partially pre-calcined solid Al oxide core (6.35 mm .times. 6.35 mm .times. 12.70 mm) was immediately immersed in the mixt. for 8 s. The coated substrate was heated at 150.degree. for 10 s in a bath of Fluorinert FC-43, and then stirred at 1610.degree.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 7784-30-7 and 1344-28-1 for 5 h. The resultant item had a 0.79 mm porous coating with 200 .mu. av. pore size. The coating strongly adhered to the substrate. .
