DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 36 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) Rigid self-extinguishing polyrethane foams were prepd. by using as the polyol epichlorohydrin-diethyl 1-chloromethyl-2-hydroxyethylphosphonate-glycerol copolymer (I) [66717-79-1] (com. PF 1 and PF 2). A typical formulation contained I 75, ethylenediamine-propylene oxide copolymer [25214-63-5] 25, silicone oil 2, Freon II 45, cyano org. catalyst 0.1, and Desmodur 44V [11100-18-8] 106 wt. parts. The foam prepd. from this formulation had apparent d 31 kg/m3, 90% closed cells, compressive strength 2.05 kg/cm2, and softening point at 118°.
