DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 37 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) The curing of diglycidyl 4,5-epoxycyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate [25293-64-5] with m-phenylenediamine [108-45-2] was studied by torsional braid anal. The whole curing process proceeded in two stages, i.e., curing at. <100° mainly occurred at the epoxides on the ester linkages whereas a rapid increase in reaction rate of the remaining epoxides on the cyclohexane ring occurred only at >130°. At temps. 100 to 130°, the reaction of the epoxides on the ester linkages were completed, while the reaction rate of the epoxides on the cyclohexane ring gradually increased. The apparent activation energy is 13.2 kcal/g-mol.
